چکیده

This work aims to discuss a study of numerical simulations the performance arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) and fiber Bragg (FBG) demultiplexers in optical network special class denominated photonic crystal (PCF) considering dispersive non-linear effects. The proposed method is based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) configuration PCF. For simulation analysis, commercial OptiGrating software was used, versatile tool used model integrated devices that incorporate FBG OptiSystem simulate propagation with characteristics. analysis systems done through comparison between values obtained terms Bit Error Rate (BER) Quality Factor (Q Factor) dense WDM system spacing 50 GHz channels, 12 Gbit/s transmission rate. results show demultiplexer BER Q factor for PCF one best performance, when compared SMF AWG excellent both fibers.

Optimization of Bistability in Nonlinear Chalcogenide Fiber Bragg Grating for All Optical Switch and Memory Applications

We solve the coupled mode equations governing the chalcogenide nonlinear fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) numerically, and obtain the bistability characteristics. The characteristics of the chalcogenide nonlinear FBGs such as: switching threshold intensity, bistability interval and on-off switching ratio are studied. The effects of FBG length and its third order nonlinear refractive index on FBG cha...

Interrogation of a long-period grating using a mechanically scannable arrayed waveguide grating and a sampled chirped fiber Bragg grating.

A novel technique to interrogate a long-period grating (LPG) using a mechanically scannable arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) is proposed. This technique is implemented based on space-to-wavelength mapping by mechanically scanning the input light beam along the input coupler facet of an AWG. By employing a sampled chirped fiber Bragg grating with multiple peaks as a reference, the central wavelen...

Interrogation of Fibre Bragg Grating Sensors Using an Arrayed Waveguide Grating

We experimentally investigate the use of an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) to interrogate fibre Bragg grating (FBG) sensors. A broadband light source is used to illuminate the FBG sensors. Reflected spectral information is directed to the AWG containing integral photodetectors providing 40 electrical outputs. Three methods are described to interrogate FBG sensors. The first technique makes use...

Performance Analysis of an Optical System Using Dispersion Compensation Fiber & Linearly Chirped Apodized Fiber Bragg Grating

In this paper, a proposal for analyzing the performance of an optical system by using dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) and linear chirped apodized fiber Bragg grating (FBG) has been put forth. Both systems have three different schemes pre, post and symmetrical. Various parameters used for this analysis are input power, distance & input bit rate. Performance is analyzed in terms of Q factor, ...

All-optical LAN architectures based on Arrayed Waveguide Grating Multiplexers

The paper presents optical LAN topologies which are made possible using an Arrayed Waveguide Grating Multiplexer (AWGM) instead of a passive star coupler to interconnect stations in an all-optical LAN. Due to the collision-free nature of an AWGM it ooers the n-fold bandwidth compared to the star coupler. Virtual ring topologies appear (one ring on each wavelength) if the number of stations atta...
